WORTH THE FIGHT --- By: Vi Keeland

***WORTH THE FIGHT***
By: Vi Keeland

Release Date: October 3, 2013

BLURB:

It didn’t matter that the ref called it a clean hit. Nico Hunter would never be the same.

Elle has a good life. A job she loves, a great apartment, and the guy she’s been dating for more than two years is a catch and a half. But it’s boring…and she strives to keep it that way. Too many emotions are dangerous. Her own past is living proof of what can happen when you lose control.

Then Nico walks into Elle’s office and everything changes…for both of them. But what can the tattooed, hard-bodied MMA fighter and the beautiful and always steady attorney have in common? A lot more than they bargained for.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR:

Vi Keeland is a native New Yorker with three children that occupy most of her free time, which she complains about often, but wouldn't change for the world. She is a bookworm and has been known to read her kindle at stop lights, while styling her hair, cleaning, walking, during sporting events, and frequently while pretending to work. She is a boring attorney by day, and an exciting USA Today Best Selling smut author by night!

EXCERPT:

**Meet Elle & Nico**

Elle on Nico...
I’ve never seen a body like his so close before. It just doesn’t seem real. Both of his arms are covered in tattoos, it looks like he’s wearing colorful sleeves, only he has no shirt on. They intertwine and wrap around his bulging biceps and I get the urge to trace a path from the first splat of ink to the last with my tongue. My body’s reaction to him is unlike anything I’ve ever felt before. These aren’t feelings that I’m used to, they seem to come out of nowhere and are uncontrollable.

One side of his lip curls up slightly, as though he is amused at my staring. He hands me a glass of wine without asking if I want one and I take it because I need it to calm my nerves. I’m here staring at this bigger than life man, and suddenly I’m speechless. The wine can’t seep into my bloodstream quick enough. Half the glass is gone in one long, unladylike gulp.

“Thirsty?” I look up at him and find a glimmer of amusement in Nico’s eyes, mixed with something else. I think he knows I’m trying to calm myself and I fidget in my seat on the couch as he stands there looking so unaffected.

Nico on Elle...
I’m up at five a.m. every morning. Well, every morning except today. I slept like shit, my body a mass of pent-up frustration. I kept my word all night. Even though all I wanted to do was pick her up, carry her into my bedroom, and ram myself into her to claim her as mine. Then she kissed me. I know I could have taken it further after that kiss. But I don’t want one night with Elle. I want more. I have no idea why, but I do. A lot fucking more.

By the time I drove back home last night, I’d gotten myself under control. I’d reasoned with my hard-on until it finally saw my way. Who knew you could reason with a fucking hard-on. I guess I never tried. I just took care of it, did what it wanted me to.

But then I walked into my loft and I smelled her. And all reasoning went out the window. I couldn’t sleep with a steel pipe in my pants, so I took a cold shower. It didn’t help. Then I was wide awake with a hard-on. I tossed and turned with a picture of Elle smiling at me in my head. Taunting me for being such a sap.

MY REVIEW:

Ohhh Emmm Geee!!!!!

I am not even sure where to start.

Nico- Ahhh Nico, he was explosive, in more ways than one. He was a mind-blowing, sexy, well carved, tattooed, dangerous, wicked (in a good way, lol), caring, generous, sincere, honest, hawttt beast of a man, that any woman would want to have babies for. HAHA
He had a past that might have kept him from living for a lil while--until Elle came along.

Elle- She was truly a great girl, who knew what she wanted and didn't waste anytime on getting it. That's what I like about her. She was perfect, as in beauty, size, shape, occupation, and as smart as she was, who couldn't fall in love with her the minute they laid eyes on her.
With her haunting past, it took a powerful, stunning, patient, mega-man to understand her, and help her over come the shadows that has been tormenting her.

Together- Nico & Elle were Powerful Perfection.

William- I didn't really feel sorry for. He was handsome, had a great career, and he shouldn't have any problems finding his one and only. What William and Elle did was just a familiar habit, with benefits, that needed to end, and easy to end since there were no emotions involved.

I am so glad that Elle found her heart-stopping, va-jay jay throbbing, breath catching, significant other.
They are just incredible together.

I loved everything about this book, the authors ability to imagine these things, the great writing, the characters-mostly, the story line, and NO cliff hanger, and I love how the end doesn't leave you wondering what the hell just happen.

Worth The Fight is defiantly at the top of my list for 2013.

I will continue to follow Vi, because all of her books that I have read so far, were brilliant, spicy, and just a guarantee great read.

So to you VI KEELAND, Thanks again, for doing what you were defiantly born to do; keeping smiles on our faces, and love in our hearts, through the power of writing.

MY REVIEW:

How Many Chances
by: Beverley Hollowed

This is the second book in the series "Chances"
I was honored with an ARC, for an exchange of an honest review,  of How Many Chances by the great Beverley Hollowed.

AHHhhhh where do I start?!!!

Starting with the cover, then from beginning to the very dreadful end, I was motivated, addicted, intrigued, and mostly committed, mind, body, and soul.

Cole Bloody Thomas, an amazing guy, love-able, loyal, a gentlemen, caring, giving, rich, un-selfish, compassionate, sexy, H-O-T, just a one of a kind.

Ally Brody, a shy-ish/conservative, sweet, sexy, caring, guarded, all around American girl,  is just a great girl, the kind you don't see around anymore.

Cole & Ally + Together = PERFECT!!!!

There sex scenes were amazing, so compassionate, and was just pure, true love making.

I absolutely loved this book!!!! I love the couple, the plot, and most of all the author for an amazing talent, and imagination!!!!!

Cole and Ally were amazing. They went through some rough patches, but they over came them, and trusted the love and honesty they have in each other. I want to say though, that when Ally over heard the money hungry, nasty ass hoe, confessing to her best friend, her plans, just made my day!!!! I was hoping for that same outcome!!!!  I just wish Cole new sooner. But it all worked out better than I imagined.

As habit, I never write what the whole book is about, that's what the blurb is for. I like the suspense of finding out myself all the details.
So with that said, what the hell you waiting for, go get it and read it!!!! Well worth the cost and time!!!!!

Once again Bev, I am looking forward to more writing from you.

The ending was superb!!!!

My Review:

I was honored an ARC of A Four Letter Word, by: Michelle Lee; for an honest review.

Honestly-It was a great book. I give it a 5 star. Really enjoyed it. Writing was great. Characters were amazing, absolutely loved them all. Story line was not what I was expecting, but was hoping for. I really enjoyed this book. ONLY reason it took me longer to read it than it usually does, is because of my hectic, personal busy life I been having the last few weeks. But each chapter I had to stop at, until I could continue, stayed in the back of my mind.Never forgot where I was and what was happening.

Michelle, you did an amazing job!!!! I cannot wait to see what you have in store for the cover, I sure hope it is as amazing as the book is.

Like most of my other reviews, I do not like to give all the details, that's what the blurb is for :]
You need to read it. And just know it will be worth it.

I always love the epilogue's, especially this one. That was a long time from where the book ended, at first I was like damnnnn, but when I read it, I had a smile on my face from ear to ear.

It defiantly doesn't need a book 2.

Perfect for a stand alone book. Loved it.

And will be looking forward to more from Michelle Lee.

About the author:

I live in a small New England town that is North of Boston. There I live with my loving and supportive husband and my two young boys. I find most of my inspiration in other authors. I also have music, my amazing family, friends, and of course my awesome co-worker at that all inspire me. I really enjoy reading, writing, taking pictures, massages, coffee, chocolate, ice cream, and beer & wine. I also run a book blog on Facebook that’s called Talkbooks. I love to spend any free time I get playing with my boys, teaching them, taking family trips, spending time with my loved ones, going on quiet dates with my hubby, and crazy fun nights out with my girlfriends.
My first book is called Never Say Never. I self published this book on March 21, 2013. Very soon after hitting that publish button on Amazon I came to realize that my book needed a little more editing and needed to be revised a bit. So after some serious consideration I decided to take the book down and do what needed to be done to it. It has taken me a bit longer than I would have liked but some things got in the way…..well that’s life for ya! I have worked full force on it so once I get it edited it should be back up and available for purchase. My hope is sometime in July. Fingers crossed on as soon as possible! This book is a cliff hanger so be aware of that. There is a part 2 to follow and that I am hoping to have it done by fall/winter 2013.
Also in honor of me re-release I have decided to redesign my cover
 reveal on 1st July.

Excerpt:
When he came off the plane he was wearing aviators, a black button-up, dark wash jeans and those Converse shoes that I hated on anyone but him. He lifted his sunglasses and broke into a smile as I ran into his arms. He dropped his bag and spun me around as soon as I was in his arms.
"How did you know?" he asked as he set me on the ground, his hands tangled in my hair.
"You told me what flight you were on."
He shook his head and held my chin in his hand. "I've always wanted to have someone to wait for me—to spin them around and then do this."
He pulled my chin up and tilted it until our lips touched—soft at first and then the reminder that we hadn't kissed in two months came over us. The only thing that could pull us apart was the whistle that echoed through the terminal and then the incessant flash of cameras.
"Crap," Evan hissed, his forehead pressed to mine with his hands on either side of my face so they couldn't get a good picture of me. "You don't want them to know who you are yet, do you?"
I shook my head but said with my voice shaking, "I knew the risk."
He swallowed and then smiled. "Tilt your head down so that your hair covers your face from view."
I did what he said and then felt his hands slip the glasses over my eyes. As I looked up his cocky half-smile made me laugh.
"They look a hell of a lot hotter on you," he teased, throwing his duffel bag over his shoulder and wrapping his arm around my waist so that his fingers were in the front pocket of my jeans.
"I don't think that's possible," I replied, breathless from the feel of his touch as my t-shirt rose, exposing the flesh of my hip to his warmth.
"It’s very possible with you," he whispered into my ear as we made our way past the flashing cameras. "I can't wait to see the tabloids on this one."
"It would be much better if we did something dangerous, like locked ourselves in a public restroom."
He looked down at me through his eyebrows. "Really? That's not all that clean."
"I haven't seen you in two months," I said, turning and stopping in front of him. "I've thought about you every single day. Do you know what that does to a girl? Especially when pictures of you half-naked are strewn across the internet."
"I see you found those." His voice was edged with amusement, but his face was red in embarrassment.
I pulled on the collar of his shirt before leaning up on my toes and whispering into his ear, "I need some real ones."
"What do you need pictures of when I'm here?" he answered, his breath hot on my chin, voice seductive.
"I need you to burn the images into my mind then," I said before gently biting his ear.
His free hand drifted down the small of my back to my rear pocket. "I thought I already had."
"Mhmm...I need more."
"I have to admit I kind of enjoy this." He smirked down at me. "But teasing me like this is just cruel."
"Does the rental car have blacked out windows?" I asked over my shoulder as I turned.
I watched his Evan's Adam’s apple rise and fall. "I sure hope so."

NO SECOND CHANCES by: Beverley Hollowed

     NO SECOND CHANCES
I was given the honor of receiving an ARC of No Second Chances by Beverley Hollowed.

Blurb

No nonsense mechanic, Ally Brody is a ‘one chance only’ kind of girl. When she catches her boyfriend, of two years, cheating with his assistant on a surprise visit to his office, there will be No Second Chances.

Determined not to fall for the wrong kind of man again, she comes face to face with Cole Thomas. He is gorgeous, charming, rich and everything Ally swore she should stay away from.

Cole wants Ally and he will stop at nothing until he gets what he desires. Bit by bit he breaks through her barriers and takes her on a journey of love and sexual awakenings. Will her obsessed ex, who refuses to accept it’s over, or a secret Cole himself is hiding, destroy their relationship before it even gets started?

Can Ally break her own rule and explore the possibility that Cole just might be the one worthy of a Second Chance?
My honest review: 5+ star

The characters have real qualities.
Ally Brody is a female certified mechanic, independent, broken hearted, tough (will kick your ass in a split second) type of girl, who catches her boyfriend Jason with his secretary (slut) and Ally ends the relationship, like any woman in her right mind would do. Because of her no good for nothing, pathetic, low life cheating sick as father, and a piece of shit boyfriend of two years- Ally now trust’s NO ONE.
Cole Thomas is a tall, dark, hot, charming, rich, and knows he can get any female species he wants type of guy; who will work hard at getting what he wants, no matter the cost.
One night Ally is driving along and spots a car broke down on side of the road. She stops to help; looking in his window she can’t believe her eyes, this gorgeous god looking back at her, it takes her a second to compose herself. This handsome man known as Cole Thomas actually comes across as a cocky judgmental prick who insinuates that Ally doesn’t know what she is talking about. But after a few words back and forth he agrees to let her help him, and she gets him all fixed up, as he is checking her out of course. Then came the chemistry between them. It was un-avoidable.
Cole will stop at nothing to get a chance with Ally. He knows exactly how to swoon her. He’s loving, caring, and supportive, in and out of the bedroom.
When Ally and Cole becomes an item, all sparks fly. Ally knowing it is all too good to be true, still gives in to Cole, with no choice, fighting against her heart. The sex between them, WOW-ZERS!!!! He defiantly knows what he is doing. There were so many hot sex scenes, that I was afraid of my kindle melting right there in my hands.
Ally, does NOT do second chances, but luckily for Cole, she made an acception; breaking her own rule. Poor Ally, even being the little spit fire that she is still never saw it coming, the things that her ex puts her through are heart wrenching; he is such a sick individual.  And Cole is there to rescue her.
Cole becomes deeply in love with Ally, but knowing at some point he will have to confess a secret to Ally, tears him up. He could never find the right time to tell her; unfortunately she finds out before he had the chance. Again Ally finds herself heart broken. Cole is also falling apart, knowing what he has done, might have been his last chance.
We won’t know until book #2 comes out. Yes, that’s right!!! It left off with a cliff hanger, and OMG!!!! I think I could have punched someone in the face, chopped them in the throat, anything to just have had ONE more chapter. But I must say that Beverley Hollowed did a fantastic job with this book. I look forward to #2. I guess I will become a stalker on her page, until I find out the name of it and when it will be published.
This is one AWESOME book, it is book is in my top 5 list.
A MUST read!!!!
Anyone who doesn't read this book, sucks monkey butt.

Snippet:
“Ally, I’m sorry,” he said breathlessly as he wrapped her tightly in his arms. “Please don’t leave.”
“I’m going nowhere,” she replied as she pressed her mouth back against his firmly. He quickly pushed her against the cold tiles of the shower wall but she barely noticed their coldness. Slowly he dropped to his knees front of her and he press his mouth against the apex of her thighs and she cried out loudly.
Cupping her bum with one hand, he let his other hand slide down her leg to her knee, pulling her leg up until the back of her thigh was resting on his shoulder. His eyes flicked up to Ally’s once more before he pressed his mouth against the inside of her knee. Slowly he ran his tongue up her thigh, stopping every so often to press his lips against her soft, tingling skin.

Guest Review: Poison Princess by Kresley Cole

This Guest Review is brought to you by Lj from Cause I Say So
Publish Date: October 2, 2012

She could save the world—or destroy it. Sixteen year old Evangeline “Evie” Greene leads a charmed life, until she begins experiencing horrifying hallucinations. When an apocalyptic event decimates her Louisiana hometown, Evie realizes her hallucinations were actually visions of the future—and they’re still happening. Fighting for her life and desperate for answers, she must turn to her wrong-side-of-the-bayou classmate: Jack Deveaux. But she can’t do either alone. With his mile-long rap sheet, wicked grin, and bad attitude, Jack is like no boy Evie has ever known. Even though he once scorned her and everything she represented, he agrees to protect Evie on her quest. She knows she can’t totally depend on Jack. If he ever cast that wicked grin her way, could she possibly resist him? Who can Evie trust? As Jack and Evie race to find the source of her visions, they meet others who have gotten the same call. An ancient prophesy is being played out, and Evie is not the only one with special powers. A group of twenty-two teens has been chosen to reenact the ultimate battle between good and evil. But it’s not always clear who is on which side….

This particular book cover, while it isn't the worst book cover around, is certainly not the best. I love the fiery back ground and the dark clouds above but the two models are too modely. And why is the model posing as Evie in a dress? In the book she's dirty and wearing jeans ALL the time which proves this book cover isn't consistent with the plot. Lastly, the two on this cover look awfully narrowed checked. I'm suspecting someone went to town with the airbrush tool on their editing program. Just saying!

Now the book itself, well that's a different story. Definitely one of the better books recently released. Plus it's from Kresley Cole, who is one of my favorite big girl (romance with smexy scenes) authors. I really wasn't surprised that she pulled off a fabulous job with this book since I've yet to read a horrible book from her. I was worried that perhaps the YA genre would be a tad bit too vanilla for Cole, and yes in certain spots it seemed a bit more mature than average. It was almost as if Cole was just a teeny, tiny bit shy of crossing that line back into big girl territory. Still, I didn't mind at all because either way I was going to read this book!

As for the plot, Cole did a fabulous job cooking this one. I've yet to come across anything quite like it. YA, Dystopian, and Paranormal? Hell yes! This is why I LOVE Kresely Cole books. She pulls out all the right flavors before mixing a perfect blend of reading material.
And don't even get me started....Yes, yes, get me started on her characters! I L.O.V.E.D. them! Seriously, if I wasn't already married to my own tough Cajun man, I'd have stolen Jack and hidden him away in my family camp forever (insert girlish giggle here) I am quite smitten with him. Cole must have done some good ole' creole research because I was loving some of his accent (not all because some of the wording was deep bayou and OLD, old Cajun heritage). Jack, though a bad boy, was also a good boy. He protected the heroine, Evie, but also tried to teach her in his own rough loving way. And Evie, I don't think most would have appreciate her uselessness but I did. I say this only because, Evie started off as a damsel in distress and throughout the book she knew it too. BUT, she wanted to be useful. She tried and when it was something she couldn't do, she accepted it. That was a pleasant change. AS for the rest of the characters. Cole had me on pins and needles, deciding if I liked them. Jury is still out on most of them but I will admit they were all colorful and unique. You will find no fake, fill in the blank stereotypes in this book.

Overall, Poison Princess was a phenomenal read and I'm super excited and way past impatient to read the next book in this titillating series. I was a fan of Cole before but this book only fermented the hold this author had over my loyalty. I highly suggest everyone read this book!

A Little Bit More About
Kresely Cole
Kresley Cole is the #1 New York Times bestselling author of the electrifying Immortals After Dark paranormal series and the young adult Arcana Chronicles. She has also written five award-winning historical romances.

Since her first novel was released in 2003, Kresley has published nineteen books with Simon & Schuster and has seen her releases translated into more than eighteen foreign languages. She has traveled over much of the world and draws from those experiences to create her memorable characters and settings. Two of her favorite places to visit include the rain forests of Central America and the Queensland area of Australia.

Cole’s trademark action, sensuality, and humor are exemplified in her popular Immortals After Dark Series, which revolves around the Lore, a secret stratum of hundreds of immortal creatures--ranging from Vampires to Lykae, Furies to Shifters, and Fey to Valkyrie--that each have their strengths, weaknesses, and age old prejudices against the others. Though they secretly live among humans, they constantly war among themselves, which gives her a lot of material.

In 2007, Kresley won the prestigious Romance Writers of America RITA award for best paranormal for her novel A Hunger Like No Other, and in January 2009, she became a #1 New York Times and Publishers Weekly bestseller with her sixth IAD installment, Kiss of a Demon King. In 2010, Kiss of a Demon King earned Kresley her second RITA award. 2011 brought Cole her second #1 NYT bestseller with Dreams of a Dark Warrior.
