by: Cassie Graham
Synopsis:
Ann is
haunted by a past that won’t let go. The secrets lurking in Arizona are too
much to handle, making a move to Nashville her best chance of survival. Her
bakery is enough to keep her mind busy during the day, but the night brings
nightmares that threaten to rip her in two. Tired of just living life rather
than experiencing it, she’s ready to fight her demons and emerge the victor.
Only—she
doesn’t know how to do that alone.
Duane has a
lot on his plate. A lawyer for a prestigious law firm and a ranch owner, he
hardly has enough time to breathe, let alone date. But all of that changes when
he meets Ann.
A chance
encounter at a bar brings them together, but it’s fate that shoves them into
each other’s lives for reasons they will soon unveil together.
Can Ann open
her heart and let Duane in?
Cassie Graham is first and foremost, a wife and mother. She
has one crazy daughter and a just as nutters husband that she loves dearly. She
lives in sunny--all be it, scorching Arizona, where the summers are
ridiculously hot and the winters are perfection. She'd pick winter any day.
Cassie went to school to be a teacher, but quit to become a
proud military wife in 2010. During that time, she found her passion to write.
Being a loud and proud choir girl in school, she needed another creative outlet
and writing seemed like the perfect fit.
Reading has been a constant in her life, but she does admit
that reading Twilight in high school really started her obsession. When she
turned 20, her obsession grew and she discovered the New Adult/Romance fiction
genre, and she's never looked back.
If Cassie isn't writing, she's more than likely cooking for
her family or has her nose buried deep in a book. She finds inspiration in all
things. Movies, music, and life fuel her characters’ lives, and she wouldn't
have it any other way.
She began brainstorming her debut novel, Unable to Resist,
in 2011 and it became reality in 2013. It'll be released in June of 2014.
MY REVIEW:
I received this book as an ARC, for an exchange of an honest review.
I give Unable To Resist 5+ swooning stars.
I absolutely loved this book. I only regret not knowing about it sooner. It was one of the best books I've read.
The characters were awesome. I loved them all. Duane is just ahhhhhh, to die for, sexy as hell, H-O-T, big hearted, loyale, loving, wonderful all around southern charming guy. He had it all, but was still losing something, and didn't realize what it was until Ann came along. And she was perfect as can be. She was everything he wanted that he didn't know he needed; and now cannot live without.
Now THAT is the kinda love we all wish for. He had so many great talents, and experience. I mean a lawyer, a cowboy, and song writer, singer, the looks, and the body. Like hot damn!!!!!!
Ann was also a great character, she went through so much that not to many people could have done, but she was a strong, warm hearted, fiesty, devoted, beautiful girl, who took off, and started over all alone, except she found a great friend to do it with; and she accomplished everything she was going for. She was so conservative, quiet, and overly friendly UNTIL you pissed her off. Then holy hell mother of god, do i feel sorry for you. As in the barbie ex-girlfriend. I wish she could have gotten her hands on her though!!
Now the best friend and brother, are also having there happliy ever after, right across from Duane and Ann, which I think is just fricken awesome. Two great, respectful southern gentlemen. How did they ever get so lucky!!!!
With both of there families growing are like dreams coming true. And that my friends is how it ended.
It was just amazing. I loved the book, and I'm so glad it didn't have all that cheating going on, it was just perfect!!!
