Who needs love when you have money?
It used to be enough, but now it’s not.
Not since he walked into my life and made me question everything.
Now I want more, but I know that’s impossible.
Things aren’t always as they seem.
My true self is hidden, and that works for me.
Or it did.
I hide in a bed of deception to disguise myself, and I’m good at it.
Or I was.
I’m Elizabeth Fitzgerald.
I’m a Senator’s wife.
And I hate my life.
Excerpt:
After a few minutes, he says, “I know there’s more to you, Elizabeth. I can tell there’s someone hidden inside you dying to come out. I can see it in the fake smile you show everyone, including Cal, the way you frown when you’re alone in your thoughts, and the sadness that’s lurking in your eyes. Why are you hiding?”
God help me, but there’s something in the way he speaks to me that makes me want to lay all my secrets and sins bare. He’s soft and gentle, but most importantly, I believe he wants to know more about me. He’s not asking to gain leverage or use it to his advantage, he’s genuinely concerned. And it makes me want to tell him everything. But the rational side of my brain tells me not to, so I reel in this strange impulse to divulge my secrets to a man I hardly know.

My Review:
Hidden In Lies
by: Rachael Duncan
I received this book as a ARC, in exchange for an honest review.
I give this book 5 stars.
I absolutely loved the story line. It was intriguing, very urgent page turner. lol
Of course I LOVED Alex and Elizabeth. They were awesome characters, and without them, this book would have gotten a 1 star.
Cal, well let’s just say I.HATE.HIM.
He is a controlling, sick, selfish, cold hearted, greedy, two-timing, pompous ass!!!!!!!
I felt so sorry for Elizabeth. What her mother instilled in her head growing up, about marrying into money, not love. Well that was kinda selfish of her, just because it happened to her. Who wouldn’t want their children to be happy? I would take happiness over money ANY day.
I can totally understand why she stuck it out, I mean who wouldn’t right?
The chemistry between Alex and Elizabeth was amazing. They were perfect together. She finally got to see how true living is meant to be. The times they were together she enjoyed it, she laughed, she cried, she was herself. Something she couldn’t be with Cal.
How can a book end that way? When a miserable, trapped woman finally can see light through the end of the tunnel, it’s gonna end like that? Like WTH????
REALLY??? WOW???DAMN YOU!!!!!!
I usually find out if the book has a cliffhanger, because if they do, I usually stay away from it, because they damage me, lol.
So with that said, I sure hope the author doesn’t take months/years for the second and last book.
Please hurry. I know some authors can have it written in a month, so I hope you are one of those bionic authors
Looking forward to the finale.
